With three critically acclaimed albums, tours in the North America, Europe, Asia and South America, songs in major TV-series, Single Of The Week on iTunes, Best New Music on Pitchfork and #1 on Hypem The Mary Onettes are this spring of 2015 back with the new single "Ruins", which will be released on the label Cascine 14th of April.
Their latest album Portico> was released on March 4 2014, just before they hit over the Atlantic for a three week tour all across North America with a stop on SXSW.
The first single Silence Is A Gun from Portico traveled from blogs to radio stations all over the world.
"We wanted to create a scenario to fit with the songs. So we decided it could be a journey into space. A silent hunt for something else. We always end up seeing our albums as small films. And Poortico: would definitely be our little space saga. It's a bit of spiritual album. I want to get connected to nothingness" - say Philip Ekström, lead singer about Portico.
In 2013 The Mary Onettes released their third album Hit The Waves.
The single Evil Coast from Hit The Waves went to #1 on Hypem's Most Blogged Artist,
Pitchfork, The Guardian, Q-Magazine and many others all agreed that The Mary Onettes was changed and the result was brilliant.
Hit the Waves was produced in a collaboration with the producer Dan Lissvik (Studio, The Embassy, Young Galaxy).

"'Silence Is A Gun,' the first song they’ve shared from Portico, ripples prettily and follows closely in the path of 'Hit The Waves.'" - Stereogum
"Regardless of what happened in the studio it seems to have reinvigorated them, with Evil Coast's glistening synths, crashing drums and vocal sighs suggesting epic sadness."
- The Guardian
"True to its name, the song sounds dark but buoyant, riding an easy bounce that sounds almost balearic despite the apparent and luxurious malaise that consumes the tune."
- Pitchfork
"Det är vackrare än någonsin"
